The We Can Be Heroes film series consists of American family fantasy-superhero films written and directored by Robert Rodriguez, based on original characters created by his son, Racer Rodriguez. The series centers around a world of superheroes, and their interactions as a familial unit.

In January 2021, Netflix announced plans to develop a sequel to We Can Be Heroes with the involvement of Robert Rodriguez.[1] By August of the same year, Rodriguez confirmed that he would return in his role as director, while announcing that principal photography will commence in 2022 following completion of Spy Kids: Armageddon;[2] which following delays completed production and was scheduled for release by 2023.[3] In September 2023, Rodriguez stated as time has passed on, he is excited to see the growth of the main characters in their heroic roles. The filmmaker confirmed that he intends to begin production on the sequel as his next project with the film's release potentially debuting in 2024.[4]
