Aladdin: The Broadway Musical is an upcoming American-British musical film comprising a live stage recording of the West End production of the 2011 Broadway musical of the same name, which is in turn based on the 1992 Disney animated film of the same name. Directed for the stage by Casey Nicholaw and for the live film by Brett Sullivan, with a book by Chad Beguelin, the recording stars Ainsley Melham as the titular character, alongside Trevor Dion Nicholas, Isabelle McCalla, Brian Gonzales, Brandon O'Neill, Robert Tripolino, Irvine Iqbal, Don Darryl Rivera and Jonathan Freeman as Jafar.

A special performance of the Aladdin broadway musical was filmed on August 31, 2019, at the Prince Edward Theatre and starring the original Broadway cast, Ainsley Melham as Aladdin, Trevor Dion Nicholas as Genie, Isabelle McCalla as Jasmine, Brian Gonzales as Babkak, Brandon O'Neill as Kassim, Robert Tripolino as Omar, Irvine Iqbal as Sultan, Don Darryl Rivera as Iago and Jonathan Freeman as Jafar.[1]

Release[edit]

Aladdin: The Broadway Musical was set to stream on Disney+ in December 2020, then to 2021,[1] and 2022.[2]
