ChatBot is software for creating chatbots.

History[edit]

ChatBot (BotEngine) has its origins in a research project created by the company LiveChat Software, which won with this project at hackathon in 2016.[1][2][3] In August 2017, LiveChat launched a beta version of the BotEngine chatbots build platform.[4][5][6]

In September 2017, LiveChat integrated with BotEngine.[7][8] ChatBot in its current form was launched on February 21, 2018.[citation needed] In March 2018, BotEngine was released from beta version.[9] Later that year the product has been rebranded to ChatBot, following the purchase of the chatbot.com domain.[10][11][12] In October 2019, ChatBot added a feature to collect customized data about visitors who interacted with bots on websites or Facebook.[13] In May 2020, ChatBot in partnership with Infermedica launched COVID-19 Risk Assessment ChatBot.[14]

In March 2021, ChatBot launched a new version of Visual Builder.[15]

ChatBot is a platform for building automatic chatbots using artificial intelligence.[16][17]

ChatBot constructs bots using integration with a range of tools including Facebook Messenger, LiveChat, Skype, KiK, Slack, Twitter and YouTube.[18][19][20]

In 2020, the number of ChatBot clients reached 1,000, including[21] UEFA, Unilever, HTC, Kayak, Danone, Moody's, GM.[22][23] ChatBot supports multiple non-profit organizations,[24] including: European Mentoring and Coaching Council,[25] Musculoskeletal Australia,[26] Operation Kindness[27] and Tinnitus UK.[28] It is mainly used for connecting and engaging with communities, and fundraising.[29]
