Redirect[edit]

Would it not be better to use a soft redirect? --Slivicon (talk) 00:46, 18 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

How would that work? I'm not sure exactly what you mean with regards to a category. Stevie is the man! TalkWork 01:01, 18 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Stevietheman: Have a look at Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion#Redirecting_categories and see if it makes sense (the part about not deleting the cat and using a soft redirect), since the category says all articles should go to People from Louisville, Kentucky. --Slivicon (talk) 01:25, 18 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Done It makes perfect sense. Thank you for filling me in. I've seen these constructs before but it didn't dawn on me to use it for this category until you brought it up. Stevie is the man! TalkWork 17:24, 19 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
eraser Undone I've removed the soft redirect because it's not working the way I expect. A bot tried to remove subcategory "People from Louisville, Kentucky" but it needs to stay there for hierarchical purposes. Also someone tried to manually remove it earlier. I think our only alternative is to leave this as a container and sort the category of any article that is placed here. Stevie is the man! TalkWork 13:39, 27 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
