Category talk:Military slang and jargon

Ladies and Gentlemen ... Is there any reason why "Firepower Kill," "Catastrophic Kill," and "Jack-In-The-Box Effect" are filed in this "Category" page under the letter "M"? I have attempted to locate the listing in "edit" but cannot find it. Am I blind, or are category pages restricted in edit? F117-A 08:22, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Military slang acronyms[edit]

There are a handful of articles on Military slang acronyms, such as SNAFU and FUBAR. While I think there is value here, I also thing the articles on the individual terms run afoul of WP:DICT, and just up up collecting WP:TRIVIA example cruft. So, I propose merging them all info a Military slang acronyms. I think that's more in-line with Wikipedia's goal of being an encyclopedia, not a dictionary. Maybe that's the right thing to do. But there does seem to be information beyond simple expansion (which is what that list is about) in some of these pages -- history and background stuff, like about "Private Snafu". Not the list-of-every-pop-culture-use-ever stuff, just historical perspective. I'm not sure that should be discarded.
