Maybe it's due to my lack of understanding of how channel numbers are alloted, but, I am thinking that this would become a very huge and unmanageable category given the number of different channels in every area under every cable or satellite company. These categories seem to only sort local stations by their over-the-air channel numbers (ie. VHF/UHF), so cable/satellite don't really come into play here. I do question the need for these categories though, seeing as Canadian stations rarely identify by their OTA channel numbers (as opposed to their American counterparts).
The main reason these categories were implemented for the American stations was to replace the "Lists of channel # TV stations in the US", which in turn were meant to take the load off DAB pages like Channel 2. - Hinto 00:35, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
