Ambassadors are legally emissaries of the crown, not of the government. That is why today commonwealth countries have High Commissions, not embassies. I can find no evidence of Scottish ambassadors after the union of the crown in 1603. Does any one else know of evidence of such? If not should this category not be defined as for English Ambassadors before 1603? Peterkingiron (talk) 22:08, 2 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
