The Kate Greenaway Medal is a British literary award that annually recognises the illustrator of one outstanding new book for children or young adults, published in the United Kingdom. Established by the British Library Association for 1955 publications and inherited by the new organisation CILIP in 2001, it was restricted to British illustrators at least through the 1990s.
