One misjudgement doesn't justify completely abdicating your sysop powers. I agree that it was a little harsh, but in the future, maybe people shouldn't ban someone for trolling after only one offence without consulting anyone.  All you did was misinterperate the potential for the article.  Usually, you're excelent at dealing with POV issues and such; you just made one mistake. An unrelated thought; what would happen if a user tried to ban himself?
