Hello and welcome to the September 2012 issue of the Bugle. This issue is brought to you by Nick-D (standing in for Ian Rose while he's traveling) and The ed17. This will be Ed's last edition, so that he can focus on the Signpost and other tasks. He plans to write an op-ed on the experience for next month's edition. Nick will fill his shoes from October onwards, partnering with Ian to continue bringing you the best project newsletter on Wikipedia.

As a reminder, all editors are very welcome to contribute material to the Bugle, and can do so via its newsroom.

The annual military history coordinator election was conducted during late September, and resulted in 13 editors being elected to these positions. For the first time, the project has three lead coordinators, with AustralianRupert, Dank, and Nick-D receiving an equal number of votes. It is proposed that they will each serve as the primary lead coordinator for a four month period, with AustralianRupert taking the first four months followed by Nick and Dank. The other coordinators for the year commencing 1 October are: Anotherclown, Cplakidas, Grandiose, Hawkeye7, HJ Mitchell, Ian Rose, MarcusBritish, Nikkimaria, The ed17 and TomStar81. In addition, Arius1998, Johnsc12, Knight of Gloucestershire and RoslynSKP also stood for election, but were not successful. The next coordinator election will be held in September 2013.

Comments on the election are very welcome, and should be made here.
