Notability[edit]

Your article did not make a reasonable assertion of notability per Wikipedia's general notability guidelines. Moreover, Wikipedia is not for stuff made up in school one day. CobaltBlueTony™ talk 14:49, 30 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Where's "here"? Also, we need multiple, independent verifiable and reliable sources that discuss the subject in a non-trivial way. CobaltBlueTony™ talk 15:01, 30 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

March 2010[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. The recent edit that you made to the page Wikipedia:Wikipedia is not for things made up one day has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive. Please use the sandbox for testing any edits; if you believe the edit was constructive, please ensure that you provide an informative edit summary. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing for further information. Thank you. Kingpin13 (talk) 14:53, 30 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

County Derry[edit]

Please refrain from changing references to County Londonderry to read County Derry. The actual name of the county since it's creation is County Londonderry and there has never officially been a County Derry in the history of Ireland. Also the consensus on Wikipedia is to follow the name of the county, see WP:IMOS. Canterbury Tail talk 21:54, 31 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

In response to the comment on my talk page all I can advise is you check your history books, or get better ones. There was never a County Derry, and was never a County Dhoire either. County Londonderry was created solely by the British from County Coleraine and parts of Tyrone, Donegal and Antrim. There has never been a County Derry in the history of Ireland. Canterbury Tail talk 01:43, 1 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Also don't call other editors names, they are considered personal attacks and are a blocking offense, see WP:NPA. Canterbury Tail talk 01:44, 1 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits[edit]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. The recent edit you made to Dungiven constitutes vandalism, and has been reverted. Please do not continue to remove content from articles without explanation. Thank you.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 22:39, 31 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have given an explanation on the talk page, however my attempt at the discussing the issue is being constantly ignored by people bulldozing their views, despite the fact I live in this town and know what I am talking about.

It's been decided in the past - hence WP:LDERRY is the policy. The town is Derry and the county is Londonderry.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 22:45, 31 March

2010 (UTC)

This is completely untrue, if you care to READ the article you will see numrerhious references to county sports teams, being called Derry. This is because the name county derry is equally as valid as Londonderry. It should be used for this town.

Completely different issue. The GAA refers to County Londonderry as County Derry. It's teams compete in a league and under a GAA named County Derry. However this is not the same as the geographic county, but the name the GAA uses. The use of County Derry in those situations is quite valid and correct for the leagues and cups, but never for the actual county. Canterbury Tail talk 01:48, 1 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It is completely valid. I say it should be called Dungiven, County Derry because the people that live there call it Dungiven, County Derry. Whereas you make up the idea that Derry was not a county before the British arrived to justify your bullying tactics

No bullying tactics here, just facts, references to back them up, and the consensus of the editing community at large. Canterbury Tail talk 01:52, 1 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Shouldn't the consensus of the community of Dungiven be more valid? After all, it is them we are talking about and not Wikipedia people who will never go there. I trust you have never been there?

Passed through Dungiven once many years ago, wasn't keen on it. Typical of most small towns in Northern Ireland, not that much to tell them apart. Nice enough if you live there, but nothing to draw in people. Canterbury Tail talk 01:59, 1 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sure you weren't keen on it. There are no internet cafes, no Forbidden Planets, no Buffy Conventions. Just normal people who have jobs and are educated and dont need to be right on a website to feel big.

Warning
Warning

Please refrain from undoing other people's edits repeatedly, as you are doing at Dungiven. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. Rather than reverting, discuss disputed changes on the talk page. The revision you want is not going to be implemented by edit warring. Thank you.Canterbury Tail talk 01:45, 1 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing for a short time for your disruption caused by edit warring and violation of the three-revert rule. During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first.

Canterbury Tail talk 01:54, 1 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well you have now been blocked for 24 hours because of your edit warring. Feel free to return once your block expires, however if you continue to edit the way you have been you will be blocked again. Oh and this isn't counting your personal attacks against other editors.
If you wish to continue to edit in this area when you return I would suggest you spend the time of your block researching the history of County Londonderry. The Wikipedia article is a good start and will point you to some references and books you can read up on. Canterbury Tail talk 01:57, 1 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

lol you are such an arsehole you can say what you like on wikipedia but everyone calls it Derry and always will. You can keep it all you want on this website but outside of the website your opinions dont count for anything. If you were actually intelligent and had a point to life you wouldnt be policing wikipedia against things that do not concern you. You are a pointless faggot

Feel free to return after your block, but I recommend you have a look at the history of the county. Canterbury Tail talk 02:03, 1 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I recommend you go suck some man balls

Who says I don't? I'll have words with them. Canterbury Tail talk 02:09, 1 April 2010 (UTC

You make a meaningless joke to try and confuse me. Again, nobody listens to you in the real world so you have to try and seem big on the internet. Though this makes you seem smaller. You're not even someone who writes articles, just someone who cleans up a bit. A janitor, a cleaner.
