Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, Granny gear. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as yourself. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - Transmission (mechanics). Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will to continue helping improve Wikipedia. Pivotal Engine[edit]

The article was deleted because it didnt meet the wikipedia hurdle of Wikipedia:Notability. It was removed quickly beacuse the article as you created it looked like marketing material for the company.

While you probably don't have anything to do with the company, there are lots of folks that create promotional articles for companies they own or work for.

So for someone that looks at wikipedia a lot....A new user that creates an apparently promotional article looks like spam, and gets deleted quickly. Hopefully you won't get too bummed out. Keep at it. Guyonthesubway (talk) 21:50, 4 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I think that's ridiculous -- deleting an article outright without even giving someone a chance to fix it for review, especially when they said they were willing to do so. In addition, I think it's harmful to Wikipedia because there is a lot of information that is constantly being created, new technologies, new devices, new whatever, and it is people like (you?) this nazi-like bunch of kronies who stifle that information from coming to Wikipedia until such time as it's a proven technology, a widely used facet, or whatever other criteria there are which run against the normal influx of daily technology.

"Hopefully you won't get too bummed out. Keep at it." ??? What a jerk to say such things in the face of something like this, where not even a chance to re-write the article was given, especially considering the reality of the potential impact of this radical engine design, one which was designed from the get-go to support what will likely be the future of green technology, hydrogen burning.

Ok... -now- you sound like a spammer. I almost felt bad about tagging the article, thanks. (Btw, frivolous comparison with Nazi's is deeply offensive to some people. See here if you're curious why..:Holocaust, Godwin's_law)

I may sound like a spammer, but I am not. I am legitimately outraged by this. I had offered to re-write the article, to conform it to any required standards or whatever. And it was summarily deleted. I am floored by that in fact -- that someone comes to Wikipedia to create a new article, spend their personal time making the information available to others so that they may grow and learn something they didn't previously know... and then to be thwarted by the opinion of some anonymous guyonthesubway, for example... it's just wrong. If this is how Wikipedia operates in general, I'll stop contributing. BTW, feel free to contact me personally via email foxmuldrster@yahoo.com. I am in no way affiliated with the original article, nor am I a spammer. I am a man who ran for the U.S. House of Representatives in 2004, Indiana's 5th district, I have been a journalist writing for geek.com, tgdaily.com and brightsideofnews.com, all semiconductor-based technology sites. I am not some random passer-by without credibility. Apart from that, when I happened across the pivotal engine I was absolutely enthralled by its simple design. It's elegant, beautiful, etc. It is the ONLY reason I wanted to put it on Wikipedia, my first-ever article of original work, though I tried previously to add also the "granny gear" article, which was also deleted because it related to transmission components. I'm really just absolutely beside myself that no opportunity was given to re-write the article when I said IN THE ARTICLE AFTER THE HANGON PART that I would re-write it. It really irks me. As for the Nazi reference, it was meant to be that way. I am aware of how some people could view it, but the Nazis acted on political goals, not proper ones. That was from where I drew my comparison, and it still stands to this moment. Foxmuldr (talk) 05:22, 6 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
