Picture of Alexandra Hildebrandt and US ambassador[edit]

As far as I can make out you took this picture. Two questions, one involving courtesy and the other involving copyright. I was wondering cropping the picture and uploading an "extract" version showing just Mrs Hildebrandt, ideally without a flag growing out of her head. That would of course be AS WELL as the existing picture in wiki-commons. I would not presume to overwrite what is there (so would be careful give any cropped extract a DIFFERENT FILENAME before uploading it). I do not doubt that the ambassador is a fine fellow, and his wife a fine wife, and the tree is great as Christmas trees go ... but on a small screen to illustrate a wiki entry on Alexandra Hildebrandt, it would be practical to have more of her, and I think the image is clear/sharp enough to take it. So:

1. Would you have any objection?

2. Are you aware of any copyright issues that might arise? (If you took the picture then my understanding is that you own the copyright unless you are expressly aware that for some reason you don't, so that this really simply brings us back to Question #1.)

Thanks for any thoughts you have to share on this. Regards Charles01 (talk) 14:38, 27 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
