Text and/or other creative content from World Club Series was copied or moved into World Club Challenge with this edit. The former page's history now serves to provide attribution for that content in the latter page, and it must not be deleted as long as the latter page exists.

Why does this page exist?[edit]

Can anyone explain why there is a need for this page. All information used to be under the World club series page. yet for some reason it has been separated with no explanation. The WCC and WCS are the same competition so there is no reason to have separate pages! Anderch (talk) 03:19, 19 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

It's not the same thing as the Series and has been going a lot longer Mattlore (talk) 03:20, 22 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Treble section[edit]

Can we have some clarity on what the "Treble" (and "Double") are definitely as?

On here it is defined as: Grand Final, League Leaders, and World Club Challenge. Where as on The Treble (rugby league) it's defined as Grand Final, League Leaders, and Domestic Cup, and only covers British rugby league. Mn1548 (talk) 15:21, 1 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Merger proposal[edit]

Does anyone have any objections with merging the World Club Series article into World Club Challenge? They are essentially the same competition, so there's no reason to have two separate articles. The statistics in the second half of the article are very trivial/unimportant, but I think some of the prose is worth transferring over to the Challenge article. Undecided. To me they feel notability separate, but would not object to a merge if done successfully. My only real concern is how the information regarding the non-WCC matches would be incorporated into a table of results and the statistics table. Mn1548 (talk) 15:35, 3 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

All the matches can still be found at the individual articles for each year of the series, so I'm not sure the non-Challenge games need to be added (only the final of the 1997 World Club Championship is included in the main WCC article, for example). I'd lean towards agreeing with that. Perhaps a rework of the 2015 to 2017 articles would be needed following a merge as some context may be lost without the WCS article. Mn1548 (talk) 13:19, 4 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
