Cardiel is a band that has received high praise on dedicated articles by Vice Media[1], has been highlighted by Univision as one 13 Hispanic punk bands to listen to,[2] their music has received positive reviews from mainstream media organizations in several countries,[3][4][5][6][7] and has played at international events such as the SXSW.[8] This is the way the general public perceives the band, but for the skate sub-culture, Cardiel has much more notoriety. That is why they have played at Thrasher magazine events and skate rock tours,[9] as well as House of Vans[10] and 7 Capas Skateboarding and Culture Magazine.[11] These notes should suffice to meet the notability guideline for music. One of the reasons why Cardiel band is watered down on google searches is due to their name being a tribute to skater John Cardiel.
