Where'd she learn Irish?[edit]

If she's from a county with no Gaeltacht, went to an English-speaking school and university, then moved to England, can someone add some info about how she became an award-winning writer in the Irish language?

Anyone know where her parents were from?

Ireland's other language is Irish. You don't need to live in a Gaeltacht to speak it. ☕ Antiqueight ^chatter 14:15, 16 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

That's correct, but my questions are:

As someone who seemingly did all her schooling through English, how did she manage to learn such a high standard of Irish?
What type of Irish does she speak? Donegal, Connacht, Munster, or school Irish (i.e. mix, or no-preference Irish)?
