Serene Highness vs Royal Highness[edit]

I notice the category Royal Highness is being added to families which have/had the title "Serene Highness" but not "Royal Highness". I was wondering if that was appropriate. --CSvBibra (talk) 00:23, 3 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

What's more, I notice that this category has been added to several Dutch noble families. This doesn't seem very appropriate either. Mvdleeuw (talk) 13:04, 3 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I see it is now being added to German "lower nobility" in mass. Royalty may be noble but most nobles are not royal.--CSvBibra (talk) 23:06, 3 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Could somebody please make a bot that removes this category from lots of noble (but not royal) families? Mvdleeuw (talk) 06:37, 10 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Royalty is not nobility[edit]

Royalty and nobility are two entirely different subjects, as different as doctors and nurses. It is a common misconception that they are directly linked somehow as subjects. Royalty creates nobility. Nobility is a rank distinctly below royalty. Royal families are not the same thing as noble families. I will make the change, in accordance with our articles, unless someone can come up with a good reason not to. --SergeWoodzing (talk) 22:02, 6 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
