Welcome! My username combines my home state of Tennessee with the notorious taxonomic order of cartilaginous fish. As a child, I had an unfortunate encounter with the latter that left a scar below my inner ankle, though of course I do not blame the critter for being spooked by a family of beachgoers. At the very least, the experience yielded a cool gamer tag.
Though I have only been an editor on Wikipedia for a few years, countless hours of my childhood were dedicated to reading and researching all its strange and fascinating topics. As such, I am so grateful for the opportunity to contribute towards building this encyclopedia for the current and upcoming generations, and I continue to try and learn something new every day. Much of my work is done behind-the-scenes fixing redirects, links, or typos as I browse, though I also stalk talk pages and make larger edits across articles relating to my specific areas of interest, which right now broadly include science, history, religion, folklore, and the arts.
I do not edit on behalf of any company, organization, group, product, or person. Since 2022, various Internet trolls have accused me of being paid by Amazon to edit the article The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, though I have yet to see this paycheck.[Humor] My editing philosophy naturally leans towards prioritizing the "letter of the law" when it comes to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, so I find it helpful to reflect on the Fifth Pillar, which reminds us to consider the spirit behind the words.
