All information in the article is now sourced, so I removed the not verified tag. I had to remove the following information as I could not verify:

One problem with Google Search Appliance is that it can only search content that it is specifically authorized to search and therefore, if the search appliance is not properly configured, it can miss a large amount, or even all, of the data it is supposed to be indexing.

Fair use rationale for Image:GSA.jpg[edit]

Image:GSA.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. NPOV[edit]

This article dosn't present a Neutral Point of View; it gives Google Search Appliances as the only examples, and the Infoworld article reference was entitled "Review of Google search appliance" when in fact the article is a review of appliances from Thunderstone and Google; I have corrected the Infoworld reference title and will also correct the other ZDNet article title since it is about the Google Mini and not GSA. I will add the section Commercial Examples and for now the Google info - which seems to contain factual errors - will be moved under it. I will also add a link to the Computer appliance article since this page does not define what an appliance is at all. Ray3055 (talk) 16:18, 13 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Irrelevant examples[edit]

This examples are consistent. For example Perfect Search Appliance is described as "The appliance stores file metadata in an index on the appliance. A web server on the appliance uses that metadata to provide relevant search results in response to user queries, and provides a link to access the original files.". Isn't that basic outline of most search engines? Metadata in index, uses index to answer queries... Maybe we instead should list what is unique with the Perfect Search Appliance.

According to Computer appliance an appliance is generally a hardware device but Clusterpoint Search Appliance is software only.

Some of this appliances don't have Wikipedia entry's but direct links only. Do they have enough notability to be listed here? Runarb (talk) 13:05, 5 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
