Untitled[edit]

You can't rate Republic of Rome as a very random game. It is true that there is a lot of dice rolls and random cards are drawn, but this is set off by the politics in the game. I believe it is impossible to win this game by pure chance. If you move ahead of the other players by chance and don't know how to play the politics and diplomacy, you will most probably loose all of it again.

The 2009 Valley Games reprint of Republic of Rome has come under a heavy degree of criticism for the number of rulebook and component errors, some of which have a direct impact on play. The company has released errata. Some reviewers of the new edition describe the production as "disappointing", and it has caused the value of previous editions of the game to rise - possibly due to increased overall demand for the game. On the whole the new game is well received.

2009 Edition[edit]

So, apparently, the 2009 reprint has come under a heavy degree of criticism, "some reviewers" have described the production as disappointing, to the point where the value of older editions has risen. The new game can still apparently be considered well-received.

Does this appear ill-sourced and contradictory to anyone else? 199.4.27.122 (talk) 18:06, 19 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
