EcoCute (Japan) is describing machine in Japan that installed millions of units. If delete, discussion should begin from zero stage, this is different from EcoCute without (Japan). Manufactures of EcoCute in Japan[edit]

Used for space heating?[edit]

Your term hydronic heat pumps, I read hydronic heat pumps is similar functions to EcoCute usage. However JIS C 9220 2018 revised JIS std. for JIS C 9220：2018 in 2018, updated from C9220 : 2011, titled Residential heat pump water heaters (家庭用ヒートポンプ給湯機), next page of (3), covering range (1 適用範囲), apply to machine use Refrigerant CO2 or Hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) (二酸化炭素（CO2）又はハイドロフルオロカーボン（HFC）を冷媒として用いたもの), this JIS C 9220 2018 required heat pump and water heater within single machine system, that is CO2 refrigerant and water heater. JIS C 9220 2018 does ~~not~~ mention about water storage tank, ~~but~~ in reality, is to install the large hot water storage tank, otherwise hot water to be shortage in long time period of bathing and/or showering and other use without storage tank, because Air source heat pump of EcoCute generally has limited capability to supply hot water with keeping volume and required hot water temperature which deeply depend on each person of a family. (Tank capacity ranges from 180L to 560L, I will shortly edit detail in article context) Air source heat pump of air conditioner is able to supply air and temperature contentiously for long time. Because Specific heat capacity of water is much larger value than air. To reply your term space heating, as I interpret Underfloor heating is user’s choice and some mfg. produce and sell for this purpose, but note that EcoCute produce hot water as important task and go through pipe under floor. EcoCute is system consist of heat pump, make hot water from cool water and store hot water and supply via tank as a whole.
