Change back to a disambiguation page[edit]

While I respect Linas's argument regarding what links to "compact", I have several disagreements in this instance. While the type of links one finds to a page is often an excellent indicator of what the page should be, I do not think that it applies in this case. First, while many of the links to "compact" are for the meaning "compact space", there are a large number that are not (at least at this time, it may have been different when Linas made the change). In addition, the articles listed on the disambiguation page have hundreds of links to them. Perhaps those editing the mathematics articles did not check where the link "compact" goes link they should have. Those writing about compact cars, cosmetic compacts, the newspaper Compact and the soap opera Compact, may have known that merely linking to "compact" would be insufficient. I suggest that the articles that currently link to "compact" be disambiguated so that they link directly to the correct article. If anyone disagrees with what I have done, simply post to my talk page and I will change it back. Then I will initiate an official move request to discuss the matter. -- Kjkolb (talk) 06:45, 21 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed all of the non-mathematical links to "compact" that I could find (59 give or take). I did not change the mathematical ones because I am not sure which article they should be redirected to. There are currently seven articles that may be the proper fit. I do not know much about higher mathematics, but I suspect that the majority should be linked to "compact space". However, I am unwilling to guess. Excluding talk and user pages, there are about 180 articles with links to change. I would do it myself, but I cannot. If no one will volunteer to change the article, then it would be greatly appreciated if someone will help me make the correct links by explaining the concepts in a simplified manner. My talk page is the best way to reach me. Thanks, Kjkolb (talk) 09:08, 21 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Jay Crosby[edit]

Jay Crosby was born in 1600 and is still living to day. The years have worn on him so he's a little bitter. He now works at a school as a history teacher. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.225.187.151 (talk) 16:07, 18 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
