Formal request has been received to merge: Giant peccary into Collared peccary; dated: August 2021. Proposer's Rationale: The giant peccary has not been accepted as a valid species by any major zoological authority. It has instead been listed as a synonym for the collared peccary. I believe the proposed description/historic information of the giant peccary should merely take up a section in the Collared peccary article. —Porqaz. Discuss it here. Yup; no point in keeping separate articles for synonymized taxa. --Elmidae (talk · contribs) 13:31, 4 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
