"Life Goes On" is a song recorded by American rapper Lil Mosey, released as a single on March 22, 2024. The song was produced by Harvey Mason Jr., UV Killin Em and Saint Patrick. This is also his second song of 2024.

Background[edit]

Mosey began teasing the new song via Instagram after over a year with no new music with his last lead single releasing on January 17, 2023.

In an interview with Raina Aniftos at Billboard Women In Music 2024, Mosey revealed the meaning of the song stating "It's just a reminder that, you know people go through things, everybody goes through things and some things happen, and you know life goes on, it always get's better" [3] In the same interview he also revleaed that this track was inspired by American Singer Olivia Rodrigo and her album Sour.[4]

Lyrics[edit]

In the first verse Mosey sings "One disaster after next. I'm not complaining, I'm just stressed" he said on the Zach Sang Show podcast "I think I finally realised Life Goes On, and like in the first line of the song I say one disaster after next I'm not complaining I'm just stressed. Cuz even though like I'm tryna remind myself that life goes on like I'm still like dealing with stuff and I'm still like not where I wanna be at and like when it comes to everything...even mentally, where I wanna be mentally and stuff... It's also just a reminder to myself cuz like I've just seen it from like what I've gone through and like to where I'm at now... Life Goes On" [5]

At the end of the first verse he sings "I'm not good at seeing faces. I'm not good at being famous". This could be in reference to how he was seen in the public eye after the rape accusation against him. He stated in the same Zach Sang Show podcast "I didn't leave my house for like two months...and the first time I left my house I was like just, I forget where I was but then like people started yelling some shit at me and I was like damn...so I went back in the house, I didn't come out for like another 2 weeks."
