Western Marxism

I would like this article to be peer reviewed so that it can be given a rating on Wikipedia's quality scale. The article was unreferenced for nearly a decade. I have added references to it today. Reviewing here as requested on WT:SOCIALISM. Just a couple of comments:

• The writings of the Italian Communist Antonio Gramsci, produced during this period but not published until much later, are also classified as belonging to Western Marxism.
  • The writings referred to here are the Prison Notebooks. It would be useful to link the article.
  • Note that these writings are also briefly discussed in Anderson 1976, p. 54.
• Western Marxism also focuses on the works of the Young Marx
  • It probably needs a bit of rewording to say that early Marx writings had a particular influence on Western Marxism. I think the extent to which it is the focus of it varies between authors. For example, although early Marx writings are known to be an influence on Lukács, in History and Class Consciousness he cited very extensively works by the "mature Marx", although he, indeed sometimes placed additional emphasis in what he called the "young Marx".
• concepts such as reification and cultural hegemony
  • It could make sense to mention the proponents of such concepts: Lukács and Gramsci, respectively.

That's it so far. I haven't checked all the cited sources, but it looks like a good introduction to me. It would be great to expand a bit more on the central problems of Western Marxism and how its authors approached them. --MarioGom (talk) 13:16, 27 April 2020 (UTC)
