,compañero,te quiero mucho,me bloquearon,para siempre en wikipedia en español,ve a mi pagina de usuaria hay un gran letrero y dice que fui expulsada de wiki en español,gracias por todo y por tu ayuda pero la verdad es esto: Wikipedia ha decaido muchísimo y la forma en que la mayoría de los administradores y bibliotecarios trabaja es totalmente arbitraria, grosera y cesgada. Siguen sus propios intereses particulares antes que las políticas de Wikipedia o el interés común. Rename conflict[edit]

That is not just speculative. As part of my vandal-fighting and related admin actions, I have been subjected to attemped impersonation via similar usernames multiple times. Indeed this very user is a long-term abuser whom I have blocked and/or reverted including socks. Please undo this latest attempt of his at harassing me. Hi, sorry you both, DMacks and The Earwig, for this inappropriate renaming. I reverted it. Usually software shows me similar names and notify me about possible conflicts with similar names. CommotioCerebri had been wikistalking my contributions. Almost three quarters of their edits were either reversions of edits I made, or were comments on my contributions. They initiated an ANI discussion -- a bogus accusation I had violated 3RR -- without complying with the requirement of informing me of the ANI.

You renamed them Renamed user 49274c4c204245204241434b referring interested parties to m:Special:GlobalRenameQueue/request/37637. I clicked on that link, and was informed only Stewards, Global renamers, WMF Support and Safety ID are authorized to read that record.

Was there a reason why this request should be kept confidential? If not, can you provide a link to the request that is readable by ordinary contributors?

Would you have agreed to this request if you had reason to believe its purpose was to obfuscate responsibility for questionable behaviour?

This individual acknowledged, to an uninvolved third party, that they had a history of making contributions using anonymous IP addresses, and had recently decided to create a named ID. Since then, almost three quarters of the edits they made, with this ID, targeted my contributions, so there is no question in my mind that the overwhelming use of this ID has been behaviour that violates WP:BATTLEGROUND.

I encountered an IP contributor who made what I regarded as a questionable prod. I left a note on the article's talk page, and it was the almost brand new ID CommotioCerebri who tried to defend the prod.

I explicitly asked them to confirm or refute whether they were a single individual participating in the discussion using multiple IDs. While they claimed they weren't, I am frankly extremely doubtful.

I think it is unlikely that they logged on, once a week or so, and picked a couple of my contributions to disrupt, only to then log off. I can't help wondering whether they may maintain a stable of sockpuppets, using each one to target a different victim.

So, how possible would it be to restore them back to their original ID-name, to make it easier for people to recognize when recent edits are not mistakes, but are part of a general pattern of ignoring policy?

(I said almost three quarters of their edits are connected to my contributions. It is simpler to list the 12 edits that weren't connected to my edits. [2], [3], [4], [5], [6], [7], [8], [9], [10], [11], [12], [13] The remaining 43 edits were all connected to my contributions.)

Hi Geo Swan. It is very little I can do to help you. I advise you to contact a local sysop or a local checkuser. I am not authorized to give details of this request, but it is evident that this is a request related with a courtesy vanishing. If you consider that renamed user has been changed his username to continue editing as IP, please contact a checkuser to try to solve the problem locally. If you think there is any misuse of my global renamer permission, you can contact a steward to ask for details about the problematic request.

Anyway, when making the name change I did not consider that the user was trying to obfuscate responsibility for questionable behavior. The last message on the user's talk page about what you are saying is old from two weeks ago. In the moment I changed the username, I did'nt have proofs about sockpuppets, and most of time, I can not know if a user has sockpuppets, unless it is a known pattern outside the local wiki.
