Remove the release year from the albums[edit]

Closing per request at WP:ANRFC. With two editors supporting removal and one editor supporting retention, there is no consensus to remove the release year from the albums in this template.

Per WP:NOCONSENSUS, "In discussions of proposals to add, modify or remove material in articles, a lack of consensus commonly results in retaining the version of the article as it was prior to the proposal or bold edit." Therefore, the release year should be restored until there is a consensus to remove it.

There is no prejudice against starting an RfC to discuss this with a broader group of editors.

There is no need for this. The point of the article is to include the information about the subject, so we don't need to list any here. Miller hasn't released any albums/EPs with the same name, so the release year is pointless in the template. And Jax 0677, the discussion you provided didn't have a consensus so using that as an argument for restoring the release years is insufficient. • Include years - Per this discussion and WP:BRD, the years should be put back and included, as the navbox was started this way. --Jax 0677 (talk) 16:13, 3 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Despite a lack of consensus previously, and it appears to be headed that way again, it would be nice to have a consistent way of presenting navboxes for musical acts, rather than "I made it so I can do it my way." Years are quite unnecessary as one can simply link to the album to find out when it was released (which is the purpose of a navbox – to navigate to related articles and get more information about them). • Comment - Without the years in brackets, the album titles without quotation marks run one right into the other. The singles have quotation marks, which prevent them from doing so. If the navbox is horrendously large, then it can be split into an albums navbox and a singles navbox. --Jax 0677 (talk) 18:16, 26 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • They don't run into each other at all. Each one is separated by a dot using a default hlist format and it functions rather well IMO as they have so well in infoboxes for years. StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 19:09, 26 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
