I'm currently editing this page to perfection and will create additional pages regarding design elements and principles. At the moment, I am trying to find artworks and templates to help contribute to it and correct terminology.

I also suggest that Texture_(painting) (it hasn't been edited in 2 years) be removed or be redirected to this page, the purpose of this page is to encompass both two-dimensional and three-dimensional texture in design, it is an element that is shared between both and there isn't a real distinction as such.

Image copyright problem with File:'Canticle', casein on paper by Mark Tobey, 1954.jpg[edit]

The image File:'Canticle', casein on paper by Mark Tobey, 1954.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.

The following images also have this problem:

Both solved by adding Fair Use Rationales...Modernist (talk) 12:13, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think there are images of several paintings pre-1920 (so copyright-free) useful for illustrating texture and available elsewhere - eg Van Gogh. Wikipedia:Public domain image resources http://vcbarker-arthistory.blogspot.com/2008/05/franz-marc-1880-1916.html. I have to go get on with real life. Also found interesting clip art of the moon that reduces real-life texture of photography to patterns of tone that suggest the solid shape and pitted surface texture: http://www.public-domain-photos.com/free-cliparts/science/astronomy/full_moon_dan_gerhards_01-5087.htm but real life - here I come... Merge proposal[edit]

Can this article be merged with Texture (painting)? Bus stop (talk) 02:58, 22 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hypertexture ..belongs elsewhere?[edit]

Hyper texture refers to something in computer graphics, whereas the rest is more general?
