Birthdate[edit]

Official website doesn't seem to have a year or date of birth. I'd give her the benefit of the doubt and guess she was about 20 when Curved Air formed in 1969...--HisSpaceResearch 03:42, 15 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

And my guess seems to have been right. Where is the current birth date sourced from, though?--h i s s p a c e r e s e a r c h 13:36, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
FreeBMD has a Sonia (sic) C Shaw born to a mother whose maiden name was Dahlstrom registered in Brentwood in the second quarter of 1949. RGCorris (talk) 18:32, 24 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:SonjaFeathers.jpg[edit]

Image:SonjaFeathers.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Needs sources[edit]

Personal information can be controversial. Find a source in a reliable publication, not a fan website, to put it back in.

"Sonja married Curved Air drummer Stewart Copeland (by then of The Police) in 1982, and then divorced in the early 1990s. They had two sons together (Jordan and Scott), and Copeland is stepfather to Sonja's son (Sven) from a prior relationship." RetroS1mone talk 12:27, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Personal Life[edit]

I have changed this para very slightly, to replace the first word "Kristina" with "Sonja". The use of "Kristina" in this context implies in her particular case that that was her surname, which it wasn't. So the first word should be either "Sonja" or "Linwood". 65.203.187.138 (talk) 23:48, 22 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Biography[edit]

How the hell can Gerda Lundequist be her mother? She would have been 78 at the time Sonja Kristina was born. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.57.9.60 (talk) 10:25, 20 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Gerda was Sonja's adoptive grandmother.
I hope this helps.

Requested move[edit]

The following discussion is an archived discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: page moved. The requester could not move this due to not being WP:autoconfirmed. I'm treating this as an uncontroversial technical request. Wbm1058 (talk) 14:20, 16 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Sonja Kristina LinwoodSonja Kristina – Hi.

Under the policy, WP:RECOGNIZABLE, this topic should be called Sonja Kristina not Sonja Kristina Linwood.

As a celebrity rock artist, Sonja is known as Sonja Kristina.

Sonja was born Sonja Christina Shaw, Sonja Kristina "legally" Linwood.

When Sonja joined Variety Artist Federation/Equity in 1967/8, there was already a Sonja Shaw, so she official "became" 'Sonja Kristina' and operated as 'Sonja Kristina' for the entirety of her career, including her role in Hair. She was never notably known as Linwood and changed her name legally by deed poll in late 1970s, e.g. when she married Stuart Copeland, she was already legally Sonja Kristina.

There are not just plenty of resources support this, I go as far as to say there are only resources referring to the artist as Sonja Kristina.

Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Backstreetlover (talkcontribs) 11:56, 16 July 2014 (UTC) Backstreetlover (talk) 12:02, 16 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Some of her compositions on Curved Air albums are credited to "Linwood". However I agree that she is normally known as Sonja Kristina RGCorris (talk) 12:42, 16 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Backstreetlover: So if she was born with the surname "Shaw", and apparently never married anyone named "Linwood", where does that name come from? Wbm1058 (talk) 14:01, 16 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Something to do with Mal Linwood-Ross. RGCorris (talk) 18:34, 24 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
