This is nothing to do with "Philosophy" (sic). It is an interlinked piece of self-publicity for the a book. The book, itself, is a collage of self-help cliches presented as if it were something significant or original. Wikipedia, in this instance, is a complicit promoter of the author and his book. - 86.157.215.120

I recently found a number of sources covered in the media about Pressfield's philosophy. I am willing to discuss this page further. I created this a few years ago when I was a newbie editor. DaltonCastle (talk) 03:05, 14 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Political philosophy[edit]

I was expecting a bit more Foucault and Scott... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.195.104.67 (talk) 22:51, 15 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

As you note, resistance is a keyword with a completely different meaning among some academic philosophers who theorize about political resistance movements. Nobody has yet started an article on that distinct philosophical meaning of resistance, which would need a separate article. Some of the theorizing about that topic (see, e.g., this search on Google Scholar) is as romanticizing as Steven Pressfield's theorizing about literary creation. I added a hatnote to this article clarifying that this article is about Pressfield's literary concept, and linking to the disambiguation page Resistance. Thank you for these contributions! The page looks great! As far as literary resistance vs political resistance, perhaps it is in order to move this page under a new title to something like Resistance (literary philosophy) so that Resistance (political philosophy) is open for creation. DaltonCastle: Thanks for creating the article. It took me a while to notice it. I agree with the anonymous complaint above that "philosophy" isn't the right parenthetical disambiguator for this article. "Literary philosophy" isn't right either, in my opinion. "Psychology" is closer, but is too close to psychological resistance. The best option that has occurred to me is "creativity": Resistance (creativity). What do you think? Other suggestions are welcome. If you think Resistance (creativity) is right, go ahead and change it. Biogeographist (talk) 00:38, 28 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds good! Will do it now! DaltonCastle (talk) 01:15, 28 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Good. By the way, DaltonCastle, an easier way to rename pages is simply to choose the "move" option via the icon near the top of the page you would like to move, which does the redirect for you automatically and notes the move in the Move log (see WP:MV).
