An editor has added a tag {{more footnotes}} to the article without explanation here. After the introduction every single sentence has a citation. It seems that this tag is inappropriate. Spectral sequence (talk) 11:26, 14 July 2013 (UTC)
Claimed solution[edit]
https://arxiv.org/abs/2302.07368 claims to give a solution to this longstanding problem in 3 pages with elementary arguments. The paper just appeared and has not been refeered yet ; moreover the claim seems wrong to me : at some point the paper deduces the fact that P(n_1,...,n_r) does not divide Q(n_1,...,n_r) for two polynomials P,Q from the fact that P does not divide Q, which is obviously an abuse.
Accordingly i removed references to this preprint from this article. jraimbau (talk) 09:57, 17 February 2023 (UTC)
