Who added this, and why

It was done here back in 2017 when the Deity infobox was added. I've changed it to "abode", which is not quite right, but is better than "cult centre" as Pastafarianism is not identified as a cult by the article. Chaheel Riens (talk) 06:28, 18 September 2020 (UTC)

Holidays

The holidays section goes over Pastover and Ramendan in the first paragraph but then covers it again in the second paragraph? This feels redundant.

Redundancy

This is more of an ambiguity than a redundancy. The source you provided includes the quote that ID "cannot uncouple itself from its creationist, and thus religious, antecedents". Creationism can mean the set of creationist doctrines (including ID) or any specific one. The relevant antecedent was "Scientific Creationism". In the case of the FSM, the original letter was about the ID/evolution equal-time proposal in Kansas, well after equal time for Creation Science was struck down by Edwards v. Aguillard.  Not done Cultural relevance is not established by a brief appearance. If there is third-party published source that discusses impact (not a mere mention), then it can be introduced as more than mere WP:TRIVIA. I failed to find such a source. "Strat observations" from AV Club don't quite reach that threshold in my interpretation of policy. Look at the sourcing for other entries for comparison. Existence of the Story in New York City During the Sixties

I remember being told about the Flying Spaghetti Monster by a professional philosopher who lived in my building, which was on Stanton Street in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. It was in the late Sixties and, most relevantly, he got a religious diploma (admittedly non-Pastafarian) by mail, from somewhere in the Southwest, for his cat. I was informed that religious services had been performed in the presence of the reverend cat. Perhaps the cat herself/himself actually performed the services, but I don’t remember that clearly anymore, and perhaps the diploma cost $5, when that amount could get you an entire box of bubble gum.--DaveG 135.180.48.180 (talk) 10:51, 3 December 2022 (UTC)

I'm fairly sure "Pastafarian" isn't as old as the 60s. I'm also sure it shares many attributes with religions that were around in the 60s, and those found in Arizona, and those that would consecrate a cat.ProofCreature (talk) 11:26, 20 February 2023 (UTC)
