Proposed redirect[edit]

This page had been redirected to Ashkenazi Jews, but it has now been changed to Ashkenaz (disambiguation). However, the page view statistics indicate that Ashkenazi Jews is what people are looking for when they type in "Ashkenazi", and hence it is the primary topic. "Askenazi" gets about 400 hits a day, while Ashkenazi_(surname) (which is the only link in the hatnote) gets only 20 visits per day. Ashkenazi Jews gets about 1800. Ashkenazi can direct to Nusach Ashkenaz - about 11 visits per day;
Ashkenazi, descendant to Ashkenaz (son of Biblical Gomer) - about 70 visits per day;
Ashkenazi Chassid / Chassidei Ashkenaz - 11 visits per day;
Ashkenazi, residents of Germany/Germans (meaning in Hebrew) - 1,000 per day;

There are few other pages with smaller relation, but anyway saying "Ashkenazi" directs to Yiddish speaking Jews, only when said "Ashkenazi Jews" (German Jews), otherwise there is absolutely no certainty what you meant. However i see there is the same issue with Sephardi, so if you think it must be Ashkenazi -> Ashkenazi Jews, i cancel my objection.Greyshark09 (talk) 16:34, 29 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
