Notice[edit]

  • So far, all students have been welcomed.
  • This group was first brought to my attention in this thread User_talk:Anna_Frodesiak#Need_your_help/
  • If anyone wants to organize an assembly line for cats, banners, cleanup, factchecking, etc, this might be a good project to make a prototype for use in the future. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 07:51, 13 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
User:Shannagrier seems to be part of the class as well according to the discussion on Talk:Blood on the Forge. Cloveapple (talk) 03:57, 15 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome note sent to students October 13, 2011[edit]

SFSU Class Project: A personal welcome from Anna Dear student. Welcome. I think you may be part of the SFSU Class Project. Please write to me if you have any questions at all. I am here to help in any way I can. Best wishes, Anna Frodesiak (talk) 07:07, 13 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Table simplification[edit]

I did this per this discussion. In a nutshell: The same items was being added multiple times, which is obviously a problem for tickboxes. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 13:37, 15 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A project banner to automatically update the table[edit]

Please see the bottom of this thread. Viriditas has suggested something like {{SFSU Class Project|class=stub|gng=yes|copyvio=no|refs=yes }}, using a bot to update the tables. Can anyone make such a thing? Anna Frodesiak (talk) 14:39, 15 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Scope and purpose[edit]

When I tick off an item, it's because it appears to meet the basic minimum requirements. If I see references, even if I can't check them because it's a book that's unavailable on the internet, I will give it a tick. Same with copyvio. I check refs with links, and if not copyvio, I give it a tick. Some talk page banners -- a tick. I think the purpose of this page should be to give articles a pass if they meet minimum, acceptable requirements. Objections or other comments? Anna Frodesiak (talk) 23:44, 15 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

New columns[edit]

Suggestions:

  • Duplicate article check (Could be 1st column)
  • Infobox

These? Others? Anna Frodesiak (talk) 23:49, 15 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks[edit]

This is/will be a tremendous help to my students - - especially the table redesign! Profhanley (talk) 17:12, 16 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Premature green ticks[edit]

I guess I should have considered the length of the course before rushing in and checking articles. So, when should the checking occur? Half way through the course? Toward the end? At the end? Anna Frodesiak (talk) 07:40, 2 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. ;-)
It might be good to have more than one formal time to check some things off. Some things (notability) might be fine with just one check. Other things (copyright) might benefit from more than one checkpoint. Of course in all these cases GA review is itself the final check. So I'd say that leaves us with the decision of whether to formally coordinate early, midpoint, and near-the-end checking. Cloveapple (talk) 17:46, 19 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Friends, the class is nearing the end of the semester and, technically, we have passed the deadline for GA nomination. However, some groups/articles are moving along too slowly. I.e. any checking would be most helpful now, especially with GA nomination in mind. Thanks for all your help. You are an amazing group of folks! Profhanley (talk) 16:15, 24 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
