Slogan[edit]

Hello @Itsquietuptown:! I've noticed that you think that this is vandalism: Special:Diff/837353481. That a constructive slogan ;) We can't hide that Wikipedia has errors. But when you see an error (even in the slogan), you can fix it by yourself. This is the same reason for the typo in the Wikipedia logo ("WikipediA"). @Valerio Bozzolan: Well most of the slogans are old already (e.g Knowledge Shared) but in the history I did see people who added their own additions such as this and this . languages[edit]

Because this page is about Wikipedia, you would think that the language codes that Wikipedia uses would be available from the {{#language:}} magic word. Apparently not:

{{#language:aii|en}} → aii but {{ISO 639 name|aii}} → Assyrian Neo-Aramaic
{{#language:cpx|en}} → Pu-Xian Min but {{ISO 639 name|cpx}} → Pu-Xian Chinese
{{#language:mnp|en}} → mnp but {{ISO 639 name|mnp}} → Min Bei Chinese
{{#language:qwh|en}} → qwh but {{ISO 639 name|qwh}} → Huaylas Ancash Quechua
{{#language:uzs|en}} → uzs but {{ISO 639 name|uzs}} → Southern Uzbek

And here, just to prove that I haven't written the above incorrectly:

{{#language:jam|en}} → Jamaican Creole English agrees with {{ISO 639 name|jam}} → Jamaican Creole English

The language names returned by {{ISO 639 name}} are the names listed in both of ISO 639-2 and ISO 639-3. I do not know what MediaWiki intends these codes to represent (because they do tend to make up their own codes). The proper fix is to get MediaWiki to add definitions for these codes to whatever bit of software it is that {{#language:}} uses to translate codes to language names.

I've removed the line associated with :Tok:, since there is not presently a Wikipedia in Toki Pona. Should the proposed Toki Pona Wikipedia be elevated to an actual project, I've no objection to re-instating it.
