Notability

Hi! I don't know what took me to Brugherio's plague crosses (probably the incorrect use of the possessive 's caught my eye), but I'm concerned that those three crosses are not sufficiently notable to have an article in Wikipedia. They are of course of local interest, and I see that they are mentioned in the local guidebooks, including one published by the comune; but I don't see in-depth coverage in independent reliable sources. I've suggested merging the relevant referenced content into Plague cross.

From there I went to Cimitero Storico. I'm sorry, but why do we need an article on that? Every town, village, hamlet in Italy has at least one cemetery, and then there are extra ones lying about too; what is remarkable about this one? Apart from the guidebook of the comune, the only reference is to a description from 1839 of the Duomo of Milan. (Note: "prato del Larrazetto" is surely a mis-reading in the source for "prato del Lazzaretto", the "field of the leper-house").

I don't want to be a wet blanket, but could I suggest a careful review of our notability guidelines, and perhaps also our policy on promotion? Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 21:29, 22 October 2015 (UTC)

Hi Justlettersandnumbers, though I agree with you on the item about historic cemetery (it is just the translation of an it.wiki stub) I would rather you to reconsider your position on Brugherio's plague crosses, which has a distinct historical relevance, supported by published references, reliable and independent. The aim of our project is not promotion, but spreading and sharing knowledge. Actually, one of our first goals is to create a multilingual tourist guide of Brugherio using QR codes generated by QRpedia, which allows people to visit monuments and read the Wikipedia explanation in the language set on their own device: that's why we're translating Italian items on en.wiki and on other versions of Wikipedia.
