In this assignment, students will choose a Wikipedia article that is in need of improvement, edit and expand the article using reliable academic sources, and actually publish their improvements on Wikipedia. Student should select articles that are related to the themes and topics of the course, but are rather short, poorly researched, and/or contain incomplete/incorrect information. There will be several stages to this project, including the completion of tutorials on Wikipedia best editing practices and Wikipedia’s editing interface. We will start this project early during the semester and work on it steadily through the entire course. Small assignments will be due on a weekly basis. After publishing their articles, students will also turn in a reflective essay about the experience.

  • Don't forget that you can ask for help from your Wikipedia Expert at any time!
Milestones

Everyone should have finished all of the work they'll do on Wikipedia, and be ready for grading.
