Assignment - Choose your topic

As part of your Wikipedia assignment, you're being asked to contribute to an article related to a place where your ancestors lived. Using the research you've already done about this topic in previous semesters, please complete the following:

====
Exercise ====

Take the "Finding your Article" training and then use this exercise to research topics related to your ancestors on Wikipedia. Try to find TWO possible articles to evaluate.

Choose a topic

Exercise

Once you have two ideas in mind, take the "Evaluating articles and sources training" and then use this exercise to evaluate both the articles you chose, looking for ways you could improve them with one or two new paragraphs. Use this evaluation to narrow your choice down to ONE topic.

Evaluate two possible articles

Exercise

After you've thought about what topic you want to improve, use this exercise to finalize your topic. Start considering what sources you already have, or what sources you need to find, in order to make improvements to your topic.

Assignment - Begin moving your work to Wikipedia

Now that you've got a complete draft, it's time to move your work live - to the "mainspace."

Assignment - Final article

It's the final week to develop your article. Revisit your text and refine your work. You may do more research and find missing information; rewrite the lead section to represent all major points; reorganize the text to communicate the information better; or add images and other media. At a minimum, complete the exerise below, and then read Editing Wikipedia page 15 to review a final check-list before completing your assignment.

Don't forget that you can ask for help from your Wikipedia Expert at any time!
