Students will be researching significant, underexamined figures from the history of their own cultures and writing about this person's contributions to history, society, or their culture. BYU-Hawaii is an international campus representing 70 countries from around the world so the list of people students will be writing about will be diverse, intersectional, and international in nature. The students would have had workshops in information literacy and writing in addition to this assignment.
