Notes from Oklahoma Transportation Commission meeting minutes, as posted on the ODOT website. A small part of the matters discussed as these meetings are the extensions, removals, and reroutings of numbered highways (usually appearing under the heading "State Highway System Revisions"). These items are excerpted here for reference purposes. All items were approved by the commission unless otherwise noted.

    • "Canadian County—Remove from the State Highway System SH-66 Frontage Road, beginning at the junction of Mustang Road and Lakeshore Drive in Yukon, extending west approximately 0.85 mile. Public Removal Hearing was held August 5, 2004."
  • October 11, 2004
    • "Okmulgee County—relocation of SH-56 west of Okmulgee. A public removal hearing was held September 13, 2004."

  • May 2, 2005—"Greer and Kiowa Counties—relocation of SH-6 north of Granite. Removal hearing was held December 11, 1997."
  • October 3, 2005
    • "McClain County—removal of I-44/US-62 frontage road. A Public Removal hearing was held on September 13, 2005."
    • "Noble County—removal of access road west of I-35 requested by the City of Perry. A Public Removal hearing was held on September 13, 2005."
    • "Pontotoc County—relocation of US-377, SH-99 and SH-3E from Ada to north of Byng. A Public Removal Hearing was held on September 30, 2005. NOTE: Prior to voting on Items on the Consent Docket, Commissioner Berry called on Ms. Dawn Sullivan to present clarification of [this item]. This Item involves Relocation of US-377, SH-99 and SH-3E (commonly referred to as SH-99) from Ada to North of Byng, and is necessitated by new construction of SH-99 from Ada to north of Byng. This involves removal of the old section of SH-99 from the State Highway System and addition of the newly constructed portion of SH-99 to the State Highway System. This will also address the follow-route numbers in the City of Ada to clean up highway designations. A Removal Hearing was held on September 30, 2005, in Ada with the County Commissioner, City Councilman, representatives from ACCO and Circuit Engineers for Pontotoc County in attendance. Comments were made at this meeting concerning the condition of the existing roadway and requests were made for additional work to be done on the highway. It is required that the roadway meet mandated criteria that the Division Engineer will certify prior to the removal being formalized. This revision will become effective upon approval by the State Transportation Commission, and completion of certification by Division III Engineer that the old roadways meets mandated criteria."

  • October 2, 2006—"Seminole County—Relocation of SH-99 and US-377 in the City of Seminole. A Public Removal Hearing was held September 20, 2006, in compliance with state law."
  • November 6, 2006—Removal of US-64 BUS in Enid—tabled (later passed January 5, 2009, see below)
  • December 4, 2006—"Okmulgee County—this item is necessitated by the relocation of US-266 at Deep Fork River. Add to the State Highway System a segment of new highway to be designated US-266, beginning southwest of Grayson and extending northeasterly 1.11 miles. Remove from the State Highway System a portion of US-266, beginning at new construction southwest of Grayson. This portion of old US-266, including right-of-way determined by the Department, will be transferred to the appropriate local jurisdiction for further maintenance or abandonment. Removal Hearing was held November 14, 2006."

  • March 2, 2009—"Hughes County—Relocation of US-75 at Wetumka. A Public Removal Hearing was held February 10, 2009."
  • September 8, 2009—"Canadian County—Removal of SH-92 beginning at SH-152 in Mustang and extending north to SH-66 in Yukon. This segment of SH-92, including right-of-way determined by the Department, will be transferred to the local jurisdiction for further maintenance or abandonment. A Public Removal Hearing was held on September 29, 2008."

    • "Grady County—relocation of SH-37 west of Tuttle. A Public Removal Hearing was held on March 3, 2010."
  • August 10, 2010
    • "Texas County—relocation of SH-136 south of Guymon. A Public Removal Hearing was held June 29, 2010, in compliance with state law."
    • "Logan County—relocation of SH-33 at Langston. A Public Removal Hearing was held December 23, 2003, in compliance with state law."
    • "Le Flore County—relocation of SH-128 southeast of Heavener. This segment of old SH-128 has been obliterated."
  • September 7, 2010—"Le Flore County—relocation of SH-9A southwest of Arkoma. This segment of old SH-9A has been obliterated."
