The railroad of the Christie & Eastern Railway Company, hereinafter called the carrier, is a single-track standard-gauge steam railroad, located in western Louisiana. The line extends from Sandel to Peason, La., a distance of 10.595 miles. The carrier also owns 1.678 miles of yard track and sidings. Its road thus embraces 12.273 miles of all tracks owned. The carrier is an industrial railroad. It reports for the year ending December 31, 1919, that it handled 68,523 tons of freight, of which 63,814 tons represented products of forests.


CORPORATE HISTORY

The carrier was incorporated February 1, 1917, under the general laws of the State of Louisiana, for the purpose of constructing, or otherwise acquiring, maintaining, and operating a railroad in Louisiana.

DEVELOPMENT OF FIXED PHYSICAL PROPERTY

The owned mileage of the carrier, extending from Sandel to Peason, La., a distance of 10.595 miles, was all acquired by construction during the period February to August, 1917. The line was constructed by or for the company in the interest of the Peavy–Wilson Lumber Company.
