Johan Santana News
by HPJoker

This is the latest news on Minnesota Twins pitcher Johan Santana. Santana has been dubbed the best lefty in baseball and is the main topic at this seasons Winter Meetings.

FINALLY SOME NEWS!

I just heard that Santana is looking for a 7 year deal worth 140 Million dollars, 20 Million a year, so the Twins aren't going to re-sign him. If Bill Smith, the Twins GM, had gotten the deal he wanted, Santana would be on the Sox, Yankees, or the Angels would've have snagged Santana by now. Smith wants tons of young players so unless that happens, Santana will be the number 1 starter of the Twins on opening day.

I don't think there is any new news on Santana. It's been quiet lately.

News says that the Yankees are out of the Santana deal, which is good news for us Sox fans. The only problem with me is that the Red Sox are still hunting him. The latest rumor is...

Twins get:

Jacoby Ellsbury Ned Lowry (Second Basemen) A minor league prospect Another player (Jon Lester?)

Red Sox get:

Johan Santana

Me, I don't like the deal. Then we have Coco Crisp playing center again, and a fine lefty with Lester if he comes in. I'd rather have Jon Lester in the deal than Clay Buchholz through. Buchholz, the young righty who threw the no hitter against the Baltimore O's in his second career start. Check out my user page for MLB news.
