Wikipedia:WikiProject Biology/Requests

This is the central location for all requests regarding Wikiproject:Biology and its taskforces. For all new requests for improvement, assessment, or creation of articles, we will use the Wikipedia Requests system developed by Wikiproject X. We will also consider moving old article requests to the new system as well. In the meantime, all requests and links to old request pages will be collected here.

How to Submit a Request

Article Creation

If you have an article which you think deserves to be created, place Article Creation in the title line of your request. Make sure to include any sources you have on this topic and/or an explanation of what it is so that we can find the proper sources.

Article Improvement

If you have an article which you think needs to be improved, place Article Improvement in the title line of your request. Make sure to include information on what needs to be improved about the article, and if you can, some ideas on how to do that.

Article Assessment/re-assessment

Generally speaking, a request should not be made for assessment. We have tools to see which articles are unassessed, and reassessing an article is a fairly simple task. See WikiProject_Biology/Assessment for details.

However, high-quality articles (usually B-class) must be assessed for GA/FA status, which is a more involved procedure. See the page Good article nominations for more informtion. If you know that an article should be nominated, but do not want to do so yourself, please do submit a request. Mention GA Nomination or FA Nomination in the title of the request.

If you are interested in more extensive comments on an article, please leave a message on our Project's talk page with a link to the article in question.

Other

The Wikipedia Requests system is meant to only be used on articles in namespace. If you want to request a change to one of our Project pages, to a template, or something like that, please leave a message on our Project's talk page.

ToDo

• Interwiki gaps: List of articles generated by WP:Birds that uses Wikidata and a bot to make a list of articles which are present in other languages but not English. Will copy this idea shortly, but for WP:BIOL instead of WP:Birds.
