A non-encyclopedic cross-categorisation; per the recent discussion at Notability:People: Redirect proposal for Knight's Cross recipients, the awarding of the Knight's Cross was deemed not to confer presumed notability on the recipients.

The template thus does not serve a useful navigational purpose and is indiscriminate. The appropriate Category:Recipients of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross already exists and is sufficient for navigation. Similar templates have been deleted in the past, such as TFD:KC recipients of the Fallschirmjäger (multi-TfD); TfD:KC recipients of the Kriegsmarine surface fleet; TfD:KC recipients of the 4th SS Division (multi-TfD), and more.

I created this template to carry the spillover from Template:Obama confirmations and have never thought it perfect, especially as it wasn't continued to the end of Pres. Obama's first term, let alone his second. The original or mother template fills a space in at least one article about Obama's cabinet. The format of both is designed to conveniently compress comparable basic information about all the cabinet-level (or Supreme Court) posts requiring Senate confirmation, such as date of nomination and confirmation vote, as well as to allow readers to see how each Senator voted for or against confirming each nominee. I don't oppose deleting the template if the same information can be presented in some equally-convenient way (Repeal & Replace, rather than simple repeal). Propose merging Template:Infobox heraldry with Template:Infobox organization.
Variables/parametres pretty much pertain uniquely to the context of the United Kingdom. On a side note, pretty much only the United Kingdom does have such a public heraldic organisation. Keep. {{infobox heraldry}} is not concerning an organization but a herald, an officer of arms, which is an official post. For example, this template is used in the article Lord Lyon King of Arms, the title of the herald responsible for the Court of the Lord Lyon in Scotland. The Court of the Lord Lyon article does not use this template but uses {{infobox court}} (as it is not an organization but a court). Specific heralds have existed throughout history in many European countries, and were royal court officers in pre-Revolution France (office d'armes) and official roles still exist in other Commonwealth countries, even if not as prominent as the ones in the UK still are (who tend to all be knighted etc). comment, yes, it appears as though most of the parameters could be mapped into {{Infobox organization}}, but the fine-grained leadership information would be lost. but, I'm not sure if that's significant enough of an issue to prevent the heraldry template from being replaced with the more generic organization template. Keep. It's a specific area with unique fields and would only clutter up the very general "Organization" template, while confusing those who do understand its purpose. note. It looks like it has been removed from the articles. Looking at a few for exactly how it is used I could not find it, and a null edit stopped the article thinking it was including it. The articles had not been changed so it was presumably being included by a template, which can take care of any formatting differences. Note: If I am following this template's documentation correctly; {{NFCC issue note}} and {{Non-free review}} have been deprecated in favour of {{FfD}}. The first template appears to be something akin to a maintenance template, with the second one being for the pre-FfD Wikipedia:Non-free content review. I don't know what the appropriate procedure for these "historical reference" pages is. That said, the timestamp template is just wasteful, there's no reason to have a separate template just to date the thing. Delete or Merge {{NFCC issue note/Timestamp}} into {{NFCC issue note}}. Note from the creator of the template: This was originally made to be used in conjunction with WP:NFCR as roughly outlined at User:Toshio Yamaguchi/NFCC task. I stopped to perform this task long ago and do not plan to resume it. As far as I know, no other user performed this task like this, so I believe there is no longer any need for the template. Also, if I recall correctly, it was decided through some discussion not to use this template to tag articles anymore (don't have a diff handy). Per WP:CLN, I think there are more advantagaes to including these entries at Category:Female generals and flag officers of the United States than using this template. There are 83 officers (all, if not almost all entries Wikipedia has) listed in the sub-categories which is well more than is reasonable to show in a template. Keep. Nomination doesn't make much sense. This is template sub-documentation. It is not used in articles at all. Is is a list already, and is used, like hundreds of other bits of recycled documentation that are used by multiple templates in the same family, as a sub-page for ease of use. (We have 90 of them for template documentation "See also" sections alone). While the same material could be put into Template:Done/doc itself and could use the new sectional transclusion feature to reuse it elsewhere, there's no actual benefit to doing that. All it'll do is complicate use, and require a bunch of cosmetic edits (to the doc pages of every template in the family) that do nothing but change a very simple transclusion into a complicated and error-prone one that most editors don't understand. Worse yet, any rearrangement of the Template:Done/doc will end up breaking transclusions of that sort. Template subpages are "cheap". It's immediately apparent that they're just bits of code used by other templates, and they generally don't add any maintenance overhead. Listing it here and !voting on it will probably consume more human minutes than would have been spent on this subpage in an entire decade. :-) I really think TfD is better focused on dealing with templates that are actually problems, and hope not to see more nominations like this. Keep - I was perplexed at first as I thought that this had been placed both at {{Done/doc}} and at {{Done/See also}}, however, that's not the case. The template is transcluded onto hundreds of Wikispace, Userspace, and Templatespace pages including it's own namesake {{Done/doc}}. That said, it really comes down to ease of use for me. Yes, you could make it so that it transcludes that section from the template doc, or, you could just leave it as it is on it's own template and transclude the whole thing. That is; {{#section-h:Template:Done/doc|See also}} vs {{Done/See also}}. I don't know about everybody else, but, option 2 appears significantly easier to do. Hello, Pppery. It appears I didn't make myself clear. Well, I was hoping I implied it; more polite that way. You are suggesting labeled section transclusion for 369 instance. That means making 369 edits, changing {{Done/See also}} into {{#section-h:Template:Done/doc|See also}}. After spending both editor's and Foundation's time and resources doing this, what do we get? The end user notices nothing and the editor notices a mere complication. You know, there is an ArbCom section against such changes with no net results; see MOS:STABILITY. Difficult to say what to do with it without documentation or even a sample of usage. Keep: We are going to start using this infobox very soon, we have been working on ensuring the data on Wikidata is correct and up to date before we start using it across the relevant articles, there are over 650 Biosphere Reserves so I don't think it is too specific. - Comment Given the current discussions about using Wikidata-populated templates in enwiki, I'd support moving this to Sandbox until we have some sort of consensus on how to proceed. In an ideal world (ha), as an editor, I'd like to be able to generate the template based on Wikidata data values with a single click, and then paste it as Wikitext, which would address current concerns of Wikipedia editors who want to be able to update templates without understanding Wikidata. - PKM (talk) 21:05, 30 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Keep if it will be used soon. If it's using Wikidata, then if it turns out to be overly specific then it's easier to merge it into a less-specific one, but mostly I'd suggest using it as a child template unless it's the only infobox on the page (as {{Infobox World Heritage Site}} is).
