reasoning -Aushra (talk) 13:20, 18 March 2012 (UTC)

Not done - this article has not been restored because it does not appear to meet our guidelines for inclusion of articles concerning organisations. In general, Wikipedia considers a topic to be notable if there exist multiple reliable sources of information on the topic, external to the subject itself. Articles concerning companies will be deleted on sight if they are considered to be unambiguous advertising or promotion, or if they do not contain a credible assertion of the significance of the subject. I note that you already have a copy of the original draft in your sandbox so there is no need to refund it for improvement. --Tikiwont (talk) 19:21, 18 March 2012 (UTC)

Scott Metzger

This article was originally nominated for speedy deletion in 2009. It was removed from nomination via a hangon tag with no editing whatsoever - the decision was made that it was nominated in error. I am not arguing that Scott Metzger as an individual is so overwhelmingly notable as to make this a mistake, but merely that the article likely had problems more in the area of verifiability than notability. As a musician, the bulk of sources that I was aware of as the original author were online-only in nature, as is typical for all but the most well-known musicians in the modern digital era. I passed maintenance of the article on to a community which I hoped would strive to improve it, but I did not carefully track changes over time. If the article was edited in a way which decreased the apparent notability of the subject, so be it. I would still argue that it is inappropriate to re-nominate an article for speedy deletion a second time, after it had already passed once. In such a case of 'double jeopardy', it would be more appropriate to have a deletion debate, which would certainly give more opportunity to improve said article. -Dubfiend (talk) 17:56, 18 March 2012 (UTC)

I confirm the history including a certain trimming down over time. We discourage repeated csd but maybe the previous csd nomination wasn't really noticed. A this point you can either contact Drmies who deleted it or I restore it and you review an try to improve it once more. --Tikiwont (talk) 19:49, 18 March 2012 (UTC)

The article was deleted as the result of an expired PROD complaining that no reliable sources can be found. While I'm not up-to-date on what sources are considered reliable these days, I'm sure something reliable can be found. I'm not attempting to prove notability (although I will now assert that Deathray is notable). The article was deleted due to a complaint of a lack of sources, via a process intended for uncontroversial deletions. Clearly there is now a controversy. If you or the prodder believe the subject is not notable, shouldn't that be taken up at AfD? — 209.87.205.103 (talk) 20:27, 16 March 2012 (UTC)

Talk:List of Negro league baseball players/test

Resolved
 – Withdrawn. Tea all around. --64.85.214.118 (talk) 12:44, 18 March 2012 (UTC)

Unwithdrawn, would like further discussion. --64.85.214.118 (talk) 16:36, 18 March 2012 (UTC)

I tried talking to the deleting admin at User talk:Fastily#Talk:List of Negro league baseball players/test, but his reply was that I should create an account, and he has yet to respond to my follow up. Being frustrated with his stonewalling, I am asking here for this page to be undeleted. I will recycle the reason I used on Fastily's talk page:

  • Hello, will you restore this page please? I know it had an in-progress (or something) template on it but I did not think that inactivity of a month would allow it to be deleted, unless someone else tagged it for deletion. Eventually, we were going to rework the page a bit, and I was using this as a sandbox, it is even referenced on the talk page. I have a dynamic IP and all of the 64.85.xxxx edits to that page were me. I'll be sure to remove the in-progress template once it is restored so as to avoid any further confusion.
  • Even if I had an account, it was wholly within the guidelines to use a talkspace draft to make collaborative proposals to changes in an article, and link to that subpage in the actual discussion on the talk page. The other 3 talkspace drafts were moved to mainspace a few weeks ago (actually these are lists, not articles, but whatever). I have not had too much time to work on this one, and there was no urgent need to finish it. I don't see what good it does to have pages like Help:Talkspace draft if someone else disagrees with that and deletes the page as "uncontroversial". It is frustrating to have instructions say one thing, and then something else happens. Please reconsider.

(Dynamic IP, will change when I log off.) -64.85.214.118 (talk) 11:41, 18 March 2012 (UTC)

  •  Not done Pretty disgusting to pick and choose the statements of the deleting admin to make the situation look different than it is. Fastily stated that if you create an account, they will undelete the contents to a WP:USERSPACEDRAFT where you can continue to work on it. That offer still stands, as the test area seemed to be generating no real use where it was (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 11:44, 18 March 2012 (UTC)
    • What? I think you're way off the mark here. I don't think the IP is making the situation look different than it is. Fastily said he would restore it if the IP gets an account, but that's wrong on a few levels. One, you shouldn't have to have an account to contribute – IPs are not second class citizens. Two, can you point to a policy/guideline that says you're not allowed talkspace subpages to work on drafts/proposed changes to the article, because I sure can't find one. Three, Fastily deleted it as "Housekeeping and routine (non-controversial) cleanup", which I'm sure he thought was correct at the time, but it is clearly not "non-controversial" (as evidenced by this discussion). Four, even if my first three points are incorrect, per IAR this draft was helping improve the encyclopedia (as the IP says, the three other drafts in that subspace have now become mainspace articles) and should therefore be kept. Nothing productive comes from keeping this deleted. To the IP: I'll leave this request here for a bit to see if someone who's not one of Fastily's talk page watchers has anything to say, but even if this is unsuccessful, I will be more than happy to help you take this to WP:AN and/or WP:DRV. Jenks24 (talk) 12:06, 18 March 2012 (UTC)
DRV is of course the editor's next step - this isn't rocket science, and no need for the attack-based reply. In fact, please, I encourage you to file DRV right now. Follow the process Jenks24 - that's why it's around. Don't go around acting all personally setback by things. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 12:21, 18 March 2012 (UTC)
Again, I will leave this here for a bit because I think the next admin with a shred of common sense to come along will restore it. DRV, on the other hand, takes seven days. If you think my comment is "attack-based" maybe put yourself in the shoes of the editor who you just described as "pretty disgusting". Jenks24 (talk) 12:30, 18 March 2012 (UTC)
I did not refer to anyone as "pretty disgusting". I stated that the original claim above was "because I'm an IP, Fastily refused to do it" which is clearly not the case, and would have been offensive if the admin actually said that. The response was "I'd love to - but I cannot restore it to the userspace of an IP, so please create an account so that I can happily restore it there". Also, Jenks, you might want to re-read WP:NPA with your continued claims that I do not have common sense ;-) (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 13:03, 18 March 2012 (UTC)
You called his/her behaviour "pretty disgusting", and I'd bet that for a new user to be told that by an admin would be quite discouraging. YMMV, of course. No one has ever said "because I'm an IP, Fastily refused to do it", what he/she said was "his reply was that I should create an account [so it can be restored in userspace]". The IP, understandably, wanted it to remain in talk space, so I see nothing wrong with what he has done (and nothing wrong with Fastily's actions either, he just seemed unaware that talkspace subpages can be used for drafts). Anyway, it looks like you may be a CIV/NPA warrior, so I'd better not say too much of what I think. I've taken this to WP:AN, you may wish to comment there. Jenks24 (talk) 02:10, 19 March 2012 (UTC)
You know what, BWilkins? I did frame that discussion with Fastily. I wish I had shone more restraint in my wording. Please accept my apologies for that (And I apologize to Fastily for being snarky with the "Best of luck..." bit on his talk page), but also please understand my frustration. And Jenks24, thank god I edit conflicted with you or I would be in deeeep right now. Also thank you for your viewpoint Jenks. I think I will chalk this up to experience and let it go. Thanks to you all, now back to editing! --64.85.214.118 (talk) 12:44, 18 March 2012 (UTC)

(od) Wait a minute, BWilkins, let's step back for a minute. I never asked for it to be userfied -- I asked for it to be undeleted in talkspace. Fastily replied "Could you please create an account to edit? I'll restore the deleted page as a userspace draft where you can work on it. This sandbox really does not belong as a subpage of a mainspace talk page." So he was not willing to honor my request to undelete it in talkspace -- regardless of if I had an account -- which I thought was contrary to the help page and rather off-putting. And I never made such a claim that he rejected it because I was an IP; I made the claim he rejected the request to restore it to talk space. If you believe me when I said I wish I had [shown] some restraint in my posting, then I hope you feel the same way. You seem close to framing the discussion in the opposite direction. --64.85.214.118 (talk) 14:17, 18 March 2012 (UTC)

I know you never asked for it to be userfied: but that is the only way for it to be restored, and Fastily was happy to do so, and so am I (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 22:48, 18 March 2012 (UTC)
  • I think this is a very reasonable undeletion request. I will return the userfied draft to Talk:List of Negro league baseball players/test as per what I wrote at WP:AN. What would be more useful is if it is moved to a title that better describes the IP's goal of the draft (as opposed to just /test) -- Samir 06:07, 19 March 2012 (UTC)
    • I appreciate the effort you made Samir and Jenks, and others at AN. I logged off yesterday afternoon thinking this wasn't going anywhere so I missed the action. Regarding the title, I just threw it at any ol' title so I could use it as an example on the talk page over there. The main goal of that particular draft was to eliminate the objectivity of the list. You see, List of Negro League baseball players originally was just a group of players from what consensus agreed upon of who was worthy to be on that page, but that was from 2002 or so, and Wikipedia has changed since then. So a new editor came along (not me) and added a player to the list and was reverted, the new editor disagreed as to who gets to pick and choose who gets on the list, so I proposed doing the A-Z pages of ALL players, and leave the first page with some subjective qualifications (all-stars, hall of famers, etc), but the editors are on line so infrequently there was really no urgency or deadline. I figured we would hammer it out hopefully by the end of the year to be honest. In the mean time (yesterday coincidentally), the same thing popped up over on Talk:List of Negro league baseball teams#Does this page's purpose need to be restated? and I wanted to create another subpage just like this one so I could show the guys what I meant rather than have to describe it. That is why I decided to unwithdraw this request; not so much for this page, but so I could create another subpage without worry of it being deleted, too. Sorry for the tl;dr, but no I can get back to working on the Negro league pages without having to worry about this. Thanks so much for your help. (Dynamic IP, will change when I log off.) --64.85.216.64 (talk) 12:02, 19 March 2012 (UTC)

Done - as a contested proposed deletion, the article has been restored on request.. Please note, however, that the article was never vandalised. The editor who proposed the page for deletion first tried to improve it so that it would comply with various Wikipedia's rules. I expect the article will be nominated for deletion again, because the article's subject appears not to meet Wikipedia's notability requirements. Salvio Let's talk about it! 15:42, 19 March 2012 (UTC)
Hello, I am the main recent editor of this page and not one of my edits was based on bias against the subject. I do not know the subject, I do not know his family, friends or colleagues; I am not opposed (or supportive) of any views expressed in the article; and I have no axe whatsoever to grind against his faith, other beliefs or lifestyle. I just thought it was a poor wikipedia bio page: a hyperbolic fan-page or vanity-page about Karam Nishapuri, who is not notable (according to my search of the internet). The article does not need to be fixed, The man is not notable. The page should be deleted.GorgeCustersSabre (talk) 16:06, 19 March 2012 (UTC)
If you still believe the article should be deleted the next step is to take it to articles for deletion and see if the consensus is to delete the article. GB fan 16:15, 19 March 2012 (UTC)

Boruch Szlezinger

The subject has as much notoriety as Elie Wiesel and Simone Veil. It is one of the last Holocaust survivors, former prisoner of Nazi concentration camps, the last survivor of the death marches, he saved the first time his mother and sister during the Holocaust and then he lost his entire family before to find his brother in France. He gave an interview to Max Kohn for the Australian national broadcaster, SBS Broadcasting Groupt hen the interview was the subject of a detailed study in a large university. He works constantly to the memory of the Holocaust and its transmission. He was awarded "Large Invalid War" in Europe, "Policy Deported" by the French government. I asked my wife, a Yiddish speaker and herself the child of survivors, for her opinion, which follows:
"It is indeed important that each survivor of the Shoah/Khurbm/Holocaust leave a record of his or her experiences, as Mr. Szlezinger has so properly done in permitting himself to be interviewed and recorded, and in leaving records at Yad Vashem. He may wish to investigate similar opportunities in France and the US, and for the sake of his family and for the sake of historical accuracy and honesty--particularly in light of the persistence of deniers of the truth. But Wikipedia does not appear to be the proper place for such important material. The experiences of Wiesel are included in the context of their other literary works, works that have been widely published and reviewed, so that there is no question of their notability. The experiences of an ordinary victim (and I realize that no survivor is ever "ordinary"--all are extraordinary, as my own parents were) would only be suitable for an encyclopedia if they have been presented in an artistic and literary form that has been widely distributed and reviewed.
An example of such a person is Vladek Szpiglman, whose narrative is the basis of his son Art Spiegelman's graphic works Maus I and Maus II. Vladek Szpiglman was himself an ordinary man--a salesman--and the fact that he and his wife survived would not be in an encyclopedia had it not been immortalized through the artistic and literary work of his son. Vladek Spiegelman would never have had his own narrative included in an encyclopedia--no matter how important it is historically and personally--had his son's work not been so widely known. My parents' history (similar to Mr. Szlezinger's) has been left at the US Holocaust Museum in Washington DC, and at Yad V'Shem in Jerusalem, but it will never be, nor should it be, in an encyclopedia. I only wish that I had left to me a sound recording like Mr. Szlezinger's for SBS Radio, or even better, a video recording like those made by the Steven Spielberg Foundation in the US, of my parents' experiences.

I also refer to List of Holocaust survivors, for those who do have articles in Wikipedia. .But I dod not think the use of multiple usernames a concern: a beginner could easily make such an error, & we need to distinguish in our messages between them, and those using them to add promotion or disruption, or evading a block. DGG ( talk ) 18:34, 18 March 2012 (UTC)

Dear Sir DGG,

Mr. Boruch Szlezinger is not an ordinary victim. As I have explained above, Mr. Szlezinger saved his mother and sister from the hands of the Nazis to its peril, the first time they were arrested (that is notemment for this act of bravery that mayor of Issy-les-Moulineaux, Andre Santini and Mr. Defense Minister proposed to the National Order of Legion of Honor). A few years later, when almost all his family had been deported (except his brother who immigrated to Russia alone before the start of the war) he was orphaned with no one to help him and he lived alone and then hidden after the end of the war, he immigrated secretly, very sick with typhus to France during the War (it was recognized by the French nation and Europe, Great War Invalid), he was forced to work as a slave by IG Farben, he lived the death marches and it is the last of survivors of death marches and all that, he still has the strength to witness to the barbarity that is the Holocaust. For all these reasons, sir, do come over to tell me that Mr. Boruch Szlezinger is an ordinary victim.

I propose that this article be restored and then it is voted on by users to have the judgment more objective. --ZzcommeZz (talk) 19:45, 18 March 2012 (UTC)

not to bother my wife with it again, most of this is not the least unusual. Every survivor has a tale to tell of heroism, every survivor suffered from it later. As for the legion on honor did he receive it? (In many previous decisions for all sorts of people, we've considered the legion of honor not usually a sufficient award to justify a Wikipedia article.) I can undelete it, but the article will surely be sent to a formal articles for deletion discussion, and it will almost certainly be deleted after a very public discussion. I would like to spare you that. If you would care to activate your email by going to your user preferences page, I can send you an email explaining more personally that i like to do in public. DGG ( talk ) 15:27, 19 March 2012 (UTC)
Sir, the question is whether one of the last deportees who has a history as that of Mr. Szlezinger must have or not an article on Wikipedia. Personally, I think so because Wikipedia is a well known service that can help greatly facilitate the transmission of the history of such or such a remote but the subject is so complex that we do we can never agree . The best would be that you restore the article to be voted on by users. ZzcommeZz (talk 18:15, 19 March 2012 (UTC)
I shall do that. I would agree with you if it were the last living survivor of the death marches. DGG ( talk ) 01:51, 20 March 2012 (UTC)
Thanks you very much. --ZzcommeZz (talk) 10:59, 20 March 2012 (UTC)

Krystal Carey

I wonder if a revision as a redirect to List of All My Children characters#Krystal Carey still exists. It was deleted as WP:A1 criteria, but was that an accurate reason to delete? -George Ho (talk) 06:11, 20 March 2012 (UTC)

  • Done Bobherry nominated it for deletion, it was invalid as it was a redirect with a tag. Fastily should have checked history. There is also Krystal Carey Chandler as a redirect. Anyway one non copyright violation redirect is restored. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 11:03, 20 March 2012 (UTC)

Australian Nazi party

I'm not sure I understand why this article was deleted in the first place. I don't see how the page could have "served not other real purpose" other than harassment or intimidation when the party was quite significant and had a fairly significant history. I'm sure a re-write would be enough to fix these issues, but I don't think starting from scratch is really nesessary SchellZ (talk) 07:18, 20 March 2012 (UTC) -SchellZ (talk) 07:18, 20 March 2012 (UTC)

Hi - I have recently created the page for DX. It is based on factual information and has been written in the same manner as other wikipedia pages. Can it please be put back on please?

I am a bit confused as to why you have removed it in the first place.

Not done - this article has not been restored because it does not appear to meet our guidelines for inclusion of articles concerning companies. Please stop creating multiple promotional articles about them (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 09:56, 20 March 2012 (UTC)

relevant importance - the article is about a well known rock band famous in the 1990's. The High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) is one of the biggest -if not the biggest- Venture Capital fund in Germany. It has the german government as a back-investor which alone makes it kind of relevant. HTGF funds early-stage seed companies (IT/Cleantech) etc. The quite popular tool Wunderlist/Wunderkit by Berlin based 6Wunderkinder was for example funded by HTGF. So, deleting this page in the first place doesn't really make any sense. --92.228.252.30 (talk) 08:54, 22 March 2012 (UTC)

It does if you're writing like that. Wikipedia articles must be written from a dispassionate viewpoint and proven independently notable by citing sources unconnected to the subject. —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 09:00, 22 March 2012 (UTC)
Well it wasn't deleted per G11 so if you have an account we could userfy it for improvement. Zenfolio

This article should have been returned to my user space instead of being deleted. It was deleted quickly after being created for a reason that is not valid. I have no connection with the company, nor have I been asked by them to do any work on wikipedia on this article. I would like to continue working on this article to improve wikipedia. Specifically, notability has been discussed under the List_of_photo_sharing_websites article, where Zenfolio is listed now because it has been deemed to be notable via Alexa rating. The talk page there suggests there should be an article for entries on that list. That is the reason for creating the article in the first place. I also realize the article is far from complete, but it needs to exist in order for me (and others) to improve it. -Victor Engel (talk) 22:08, 22 March 2012 (UTC)

Userfied - the page has been restored to the userspace at User:Victor Engel/Zenfolio. Please note the above linked deletion discussions, so it should make a strong case for notability. If you mean Facebook, then it is not a reliable source because it's a page he himself maintains. If you mean YCR I see no CC deed on that website. —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 03:16, 21 March 2012 (UTC)

The biography on YCR is taken from the artist's facebook page which a CC license is on. http://www.facebook.com/benparcellmusic/info The artist's facebook page is not being used to back up any notable events. which have been provided as references to press clips. Acousticscene (talk) 22:33, 21 March 2012 (UTC)

YCR's website does not indicate this (Attribution to the source is mandatory for CC licenses, as all are CC-By of some sort), and as such the assumption is that it is under full copyright. Not to mention that because it does not have this attribution, it's a copyright violation, which means we can't link to it. Can you find other sources besides Facebook and YCR? —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 03:42, 22 March 2012 (UTC)

Jennifer Hutt

Jennifer Hutt

Page was deleted when Jennifer Hutt appeared on the Ron & Fez radio program. Her past was being discussed. Some over enthusiastic listeners realized that her longstanding Wikipedia page was being referenced. They then took it upon themselves to change things for comic effect so ti would be read on the air. Many were.

The article was very quickly (and understandably) frozen to prevent further vandalism.

Somehow, due to the scrutiny that this episode drew I'm guessing, her page was then deleted. 'Lack of notability' was cited.

I believe that this decision was hasty and unjustified. From my searches, Jennifer Hutt's Wiki page had existed since 2006. Since that time she has: Had multiple nationwide radio programs. Been the co-star of multiple television programs. Has had articles posted on many internet sites, including Huffington Post. Appeared as guest on multiple television talk shows. And is now a published author as well.

Please re-instate this page. I will be certain that it is updated properly, and that references will be properly cited if they were not previously.

Also User:Courcelles did the deleting. He is currently on a Wiki break.

Deviates (band)

The band the Deviates were a fairly popular punk-rock band from California active from 1994-2004. The former article seems to be deleted because of concerns about notability and lack of reliable sources. This band is known internationally, they toured North America many times on the popular Warped Tour, and their albums are still for sale, I can't imagine how they don't qualify as notable enough to deserve an article. As for sourcing, I could provide a handful of websites with information on the band, which should be plenty of evidence to back up the basic information about this band.
