April 5[edit]

I can't find anything about P15d / M5 / H6 bulbs[edit]

Honda bulb

Hi. I was reading this article: List_of_automotive_light_bulb_types. So, I have downloaded ECE Regulation No. 37 but I don't see anything about this kind of bulbs. Can you help me? This is the kind of bulb that my motorcycle from 1998 has. I'll post a picture but I don't know if I can. Anyway, you can search it online, the part number from Honda is 34901-KET-940 (they don't specify anything about it). It seems that P15d is the connector. I also think that there are P15d-25-1, P15d-25-2, and P15d-25-3, but I can't find consistent results on google images to learn the differences. There is always a mix of various types. I think M5 is the kind of bulb my bike has. Still, it is slightly different from the M5 that Philips or Osram sell ( https://www.philips.com.my/c-p/12153ESC1/essential-moto-headlight-bulb ). You can see the difference in the extreme of the glass. I have also found that some sellers in Aliexpress for LED bulbs mention the H6 standard along with p15d. Like... Everything in my head is absolutely mixed. I can't find anything about H6 bulbs neither. Can you provide me with some info about these standards?

This motorcycle bulb guide may be helpful. DroneB (talk) 16:59, 5 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. It helped. I found a few images that I'll share with everyone.

So, it looks like my kind of bulb is T19. And the connector is P15D-25-1. Its clear now. M5 is a different kind of bulb, another standard, and it shares the same connector. What I'd like to know is if T19 is halogen or incandescent, if M5 is compatible, and in that case which would be better. Niksfish (talk) 08:35, 8 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I have found the answer in this nice forum: https://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?466839-About-P15d-25-1-headlight-bulbs-(M5-T19)-for-motorcycle

So it looks like T19 is incandescent, and M5 is compatible. M5 is better since it's halogen. I recomend you that forum for any question related to bulbs in automotive use.
