Are there any strategy video games that allow you to play as either the Russian Empire or some other non-Communist Russia at any point in time during the 20th century?[edit]

Are there any strategy video games that allow you to play as either the Russian Empire or some other non-Communist Russia at any point in time during the 20th century? If so, what exactly are these specific strategy video games called? Futurist110 (talk) 05:05, 24 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hearts of Iron IV. There are many mods that allow you to play during, e.g., World War 1 or even before. You can also choose to play the original game and transition away from communism, although that would not be historical. DoomLexus (talk) 12:43, 24 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
If you play HoI IV during WWI for Russia, just how much forward in time (1920? 1930? 1940? 1950? Beyond that?) are you allowed to continue playing in this game? Futurist110 (talk) 21:58, 24 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
The base game is set from 1936 to 1950. The mods I mentioned vary, but I think they generally support going up to WW2. There are additional mods that allow you to play as long as you'd like, however; I don't remember the names of them off the top of my head, but there are many and should suit your needs. This recently updated mod allows you to play during the WW1 time period. There are other modes listed here. Matt Deres (talk) 20:58, 25 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
