December 16[edit]

How long does it take for an evelope in the mail to come from Boston to Vancouver BC?[edit]

I'm waiting for a Christmas gift from a friend in Boston. She put in in a envelope. 184.71.183.70 (talk) 23:02, 16 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

This answer from two years ago puts it at 8-14 days from Florida [1]. I suspect it would be the same from Boston which is also on the east US coast. RudolfRed (talk) 23:19, 16 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Bear in mind delivery times may be in the upper range, or even after it near the Christmas peak. Nil Einne (talk) 06:07, 17 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
And international mail has to clear customs. There's always the possibility of it being held for inspection, and if there's something amiss, such as customs duties not being paid or the parcel containing restricted cargo, it could be impounded or destroyed. --47.146.63.87 (talk) 20:55, 19 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Presumably too late now, but your friend could have sent it Priority Mail and thus gotten a tracking number for it. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 23:06, 19 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Actually it looks like tracking is available for any USPS international mail, though it might require an additional fee with First-Class Mail, as opposed to GXG and Priority Mail where it's included at no added charge. --47.146.63.87 (talk) 04:26, 20 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
