Police intervention for youths at risk[edit]

Is there in the English-speaking world something similar to the Family Group Conference but conducted by the Police? Sweden and Norway uses what they call "worry talks" (bekymringssamtal or orossamtal) when police sees that a young persons hangs around people or places that are known for criminality, but before that young person is suspected of any crime. It involves the youth and the parents, and it's mostly a way to inform them that the Police are keeping an eye on the youth, but also a way to gather intelligence (as I understand it). Not in such a formal way in England, but see Early intervention: a guide for frontline police officers and PCSOs. (PCSO = Police community support officer). Alansplodge (talk) 09:23, 19 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
These approaches in the U.S. aren't known by a formal name, but are known by the general term "Community policing", which is the law enforcement equivalent of "preventative medicine". --Jayron32 15:15, 21 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
