2016/12/16 To Customer Support,

I just want to tell you that I am really annoyed by the forced pop-ups requesting donations and that a user can't continue on until you make a donation or close the tab like I did. I've already donated and I don't need to see this over and over.

I suppose you have to do it to encourage those who use Wikipedia and don't donate, but it is really irritating to those who have already supported this website.

The best place to ask this question would be the help desk. But what I can tell you is that there are no forced pop-ups requesting donations and nothing requiring you to "close the tab" (whatever that means). There may be some show/hide sections here and there, but you can certainly use the website even if you ignore them. --Viennese Waltz 15:55, 16 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Don't all browsers have a facility for blocking popups, whichever site is being viewed? If you want more information you could ask a question here: Wikipedia:Reference desk/Computing. The donation form is not an unasked for third - party advertising popup but an information banner which is programmed to appear when the site is accessed without logging in - i.e. it's primarily directed at the readership. 86.141.140.240 (talk) 16:13, 17 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, sorry, the Wikipedia advert is a banner, not a popup, so it isn't blocked by popup blockers, but the problem is solved by logging in as you suggest. Dbfirs 17:40, 17 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Did Scott Dekraai go to Wilson High School in Long Beach, California? He was the shooter in the Seal Beach massacre four years back.
